Parenthood for Dummies
Being a father is a wild ride. My name is Christopher & these are my observations, theories & comments on life as the dad of my two boys Ripley & Jayden. I write this to air my thoughts & update my friends & family with photos, videos and such like. For everyone else I offer hints and tips on parenting as I learn them. For legal reasons I make no direct reference to my employer or any of my colleagues.

Video_: My God, I'm My Dad!
| In line with my last blog entry - someone did a TV show about it. So called "celebrities" of which I only recognise Vic Reeves, talk about being a father and how things change - rather amusing - but it was on channel 5 - so nobody watched it. | |

Diary_: I used to Rock - didn't I?
I used to be a bit of a geezer - at least I thought I was. NEVER a conformist, always rebelling against normality, I used to be into Goth music and have periods of darkness, I used to ride a powerful motorbike which I would take out at 2am in blurred torrent of speed and adrenaline just because I couldn't sleep. I used to play in a band - we were crap - but that wasn't the point.
Now - well - now I have just bought a Volvo. A VOLVO! Jesus that is wrong. If you are a biker you would understand the level of wrongness we are talking about here.
That is just the tip of the conformist iceburg.
I used to worry about tank slapping at 120mph on the M3 and wiping out - now I worry about colour combinations in my living room and whether or not it would be a travesty to cover up the lovely 1950?s parquet flooring with carpet. I used to dream about a new 1200cc bike, now I dream about range cookers with matching extractor hoods. I used to get sneering looks from suits in pubs when I walked in greasy leathers, now I do the sneering.
Funny thing is, and this is the bit I don?t quite get, I am happier now than I have EVER been. I guess I will suffer this slight angst about being a sell-out to my old ways, I guess this will culminate in a midlife crisis where I buy that 1200cc bike and break a few bones. I am really happy with my colour scheme woes, my kitchen dreams and just being a conformist family man albeit one who listens to dark and depressing gothic rock from time to time.
The Volvo you ask? - well.. it is a t4 high compression turbo as used by our wonderful boys in blue it has AC, traction control and.... no no no... YOU SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING - I am boasting about a God damned Volvo - it is WRONG.
