I am sitting here and I am tired. The air is humid and I feel sticky and uncomfortable on my leather sofa - I am watching "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels" a classic film - but I know Penny would disagree with me staying up late. She would say I need sleep and she, as usual, would be right. A thunder storm is rolling in closer and closer to my home. A storm brewing, how apt. As I mentioned we are expecting a new baby - it is getting close and this time we have the benefit of having done it once already, benefit is not really the word of course, it just makes the whole thing a little more terrifying somehow. The rain is hammering against the window now. I am worried about the roof leaking. So much to do in this house and so little time before our little boy or girl enters the world. The lightening is crashing overhead now. Penny is walking around upstairs - probably watching the rain like me. Probably - like me - hoping that Ripley isn't woken up. BOOM! Wow that was very close! Something has just fallen down the chimney - going to check the kid now....
He is fine, so is Penny & the bump.
Everything is clicking together and everything is good. I feel like the luckiest guy on the planet at the moment. I love my house, love my job, love my kid and am REALLY looking forward to meeting the new one. Can't help but be scared though. So much to do in such a short time and the storm keeps getting closer :) Luckily we have had lots of help in the form of Penny's parents. The living room is almost totally finished - as is the bedroom and now the kitchen. It is clicking together but still more to do. The air is fresher now, the storm has blown over, time to go to bed, I have seen this film anyway.
